Hop on this multi-use path and experience a nice run, hike, or bike ride through Albany and Schenectady counties. Most of the trail is separate from the major roadways in the area, making it a safe option for families.
Play Your Favorite Sport at a Niskayuna Park
Public parks are always a great place to visit if you’re in the mood to play some sports with family and friends. We recommend Avon Crest Park, located 6 miles away from Rivers Ledge, and Jeff Blatnick Park, which is just 3.8 miles away.
Avon Crest Park features several amenities, including tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball court, a softball field and open play area, a playground, bathrooms, and more. Pickleball is one of the world’s fastest growing sports, and Avon Crest Park is an excellent choice for a friendly game nearby.
Or, stop by Jeff Blatnick Park and make use of the facility’s basketball courts, driving range, tennis courts, disc golf course, covered pavilions, and more. You can find this park adjacent to the Niskayuna Transfer Station.

The Schenectady County Recreational Facility has an indoor ice skating rink that has served Schenectady County residents and other skating enthusiasts for years. Public skating sessions are available, as well as ice hockey and figure skating programs for all ages.
Another indoor ice skating hotspot is the Capital Arena in Clifton Park. The Capital Arena has two NHL regulation rinks, and ice skating programs are offered throughout the year, including Learn to Skate, Public Skate, and Freestyle Figure Skating.
