Rivers Ledge Combines Luxury Living with an Ideal Location in Niskayuna NY

When it comes to finding the right place to call home, location is a big part of the equation. At Rivers Ledge, our luxury apartments are tucked into a quiet part of Niskayuna, NY, on the banks of the Mohawk River. But that doesn’t mean residents are far from some of the best things to do in the Capital Region. From restaurants to museums to all kinds of events and recreational activities, Rivers Ledge is only a short drive away.

Here are just a few of the tremendous local advantages our residents enjoy:

Parks & Recreation

Rivers Ledge gets its name because it’s located within a stone’s throw of the Mohawk River. This area has plenty of green space, and our luxury apartments are close to several parks and outdoor recreation activities. Just outside our property is the Mohawk Hudson Bike-Hike Trail which is perfect for walkers and cyclists.

To get some more fresh air, head south to the NYS Canal Park at Lock 7, Blatnick Park, or the Lisha Kill Preserve. For avid golfers, Eagle Crest Golf Club is just over the bridge in Clifton Park, and Stadium Golf Club is just a quick trip down to Schenectady.

Arts & Entertainment

Proctor’s Theater in nearby Schenectady brings Broadway blockbusters to the vibrant downtown area, which also offers several small music venues and art galleries. The Schenectady Light Opera and Schenectady Civic Players feature local talent and for live music in the summertime head to Scotia to enjoy the Freedom Park Summer Concert Series.

Feeling Lucky? Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady’s Mohawk Harbor is a premiere gaming destination that also features great outdoor events.

Food & Drink

You can go ten minutes in any direction from Rivers Ledge and have your choice of a wide variety of great restaurants, pubs, cafes, burger joints, diners, and more. From the famous Jumpin’ Jacks Drive-In to Scotia Diner, Mohawk Taproom, Cornells in Little Italy, Daley’s on Yates, Great Flats Brewing, and the Nest 518, it’s tough to decide where to go.

The good news for foodies is that these spots are just a tiny sample of the area’s great eating and drinking establishments, and the list keeps growing.

History & Education

For history and science buffs, the Museum of Innovation and Science, better known as miSci, and the nearby Empire State Aeroscience Museum are great places for people of all ages to learn something new.

Schenectady also has a long history that’s highlighted by the Schenectady County Historical Society. Take a walking tour of the historic Stockade neighborhood that’s on the National Register of Historic places – it’s more than 300 years old!

To see some natural wonders, visit the Via Aquarium — the Capital Region’s only full-scale aquarium with over 25,000 square feet and 2,000 ocean creatures. If quiet reading or researching is more appealing, bookworms will enjoy the extensive resources at Schenectady County Public Library and the Niskayuna Public Library.

Schenectady Greenmarket

Since 2008, the Greenmarket has been the place to find fresh local produce and artisanal goods in a fun, community atmosphere. Every Sunday, the streets around City Hall transform into a festive marketplace with more than sixty vendors who produce everything they sell. The market is held year-round with the outdoor event from May to October and then moving inside Proctor’s Theater from November through April.
