At-Home Date Ideas to Try This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day has become a significant holiday celebration and usually requires making a reservation well in advance if you plan on going out. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Valentine’s Day but still want to make the holiday special, consider planning an at-home date night!

Cocktail Competition

Kick things up a notch by having a cocktail competition. Pick a cocktail recipe you’ve been wanting to try, and put your mixology skills to the test! Set up a “bar” with a variety of spirits, mixers, and garnishes, and then have fun creating your own unique and personalized cocktails.

Paint & Sip

Unleash your creative side during a paint-and-sip date night. Set up a makeshift art studio with canvases, paints, and brushes. Gather art supplies from your local craft store, pour a glass of your favorite beverage, and get painting!

Wine Tasting

Transform your living area into your favorite winery and host a wine-tasting night. Select a variety of red and white wines, and add a few snacks, like cheese and chocolate, to cleanse your palate. Create a scorecard, rate each wine, and keep track of the tasting notes you think are in each wine. If you want to add a competitive aspect, look up the tasting notes for each wine after you’re done and see who got the most correct!

Cook Pizza at Home

Instead of ordering pizza in, try making your own! The best part about making pizza at home is how customizable it is – you can literally put anything you want on your pizza! Gather your ingredients from your local store and get creative with it. Thin and crispy, thick and doughy, a lot or a little sauce, the choices are all up to you.

Bonus tip: Some local pizzerias sell their dough, so all you have to do is add your toppings and enjoy!

Game Night

Crack out the board games, video games, cards, or whatever you have on hand for an old-school night of fun! If games aren’t your thing, puzzles, brain teasers, or Legos are also fun. A game night is a great way to have some laughs while also having some friendly competition.

At-home date nights are the perfect way to save money and spend quality time with your loved one. And the best part is that these can be done anytime, not just on Valentine’s Day!
